Just a little history about myself. I started weaving about 30 years ago when I took a class through our local community education program. My first basket was not perfect but I was hooked! I took several more classes and then decided to try selling the baskets at craft shows. I did this for several years but decided I wanted to do more. Finally I got brave and designed my first basket! It was so fun! A quilt shop, about 30 minutes away, let me showcase and sell my designs in their shop. I tried to do baskets that quilters could use to tote their supplies back and forth to class or store their goods at home. Now I have several designs created and more in my head to get done.
From the time I took my first class, until present time, I have attended many, many basket conventions. From each class I took, I picked up many tips and helpful guidelines. I thank each and everyone of them for their patience and willingness to pass their knowledge on to fellow weavers! It is my goal to design, teach and sell my designs, which I hope will encourage others to take on the art of basket weaving.
